Fall Is In The Air

Does anyone besides me, have mixed emotions when the calendar reads Sept 21...?  Those of us that live in the "Northern Tier" understand that that date, THE LAST OFFICIAL DAY OF SUMMER, means a couple things?  First, we had better get busy and get in a few more rounds of golf. Second, we had better start thinking about getting the snow blower in for its annual tune up.  Lastly, how will we ever "out do" last year's company Christmas Party?

The thought of winter being so close, brings chills to my spine......No pun intended?  For crying out loud, I JUST got my Hawaiian Shirts & Flip Flops out of storage!!! I have about  15 "Summer Projects" that I still need to get to work on ??? Who stole June, July, & August???  If you bring them back UNHARMED, we will forget about the whole misunderstanding, and not press charges!!

If you really think about it, FALL is a very scary time!! What happens to the leaves on the trees???? THEY DIE !!  What happens to your grass???  It goes into A COMA !!!  What happens to the lakes & ponds? They get BURIED ALIVE under snow & ice !!!   SO...don't tell me that I should be full of excitement & anticipation regarding Fall's arrival !!! ....... I say BAH HUMBUG...... I HATE raking up Pine Needles & Aspen Leaves !!!   I HATE "trick or treater's" !!   I HATE scrapping my windshield!!!  I HATE blowing out my sprinklers & winterizing my boat !!!!!  I HATE everyone that gets so excited about the upcoming "Ski Season" !! (What a ridiculous sport) And most of all......I HATE the thought of the Major League Baseball Season coming to an end !!!

If you don't like 85 degree weather, sand between your toes, and salt water up your nose......then disregard everything I have said to this point. HOWEVER , If you like working on your suntan, fruity drinks with little umbrellas, and watching the sunset from your Lanai, then pack your bags, because as soon as the last Turkey Leg is consumed, I'm MAUI BOUND BABY !!!  Aloha everyone !!!
